The summit of Cirque Peak is small but the panorama is vast and one of the best you can find in the Rockies. And the trail to Helen Lake is among the quickest routes to alpine meadows and open views that you will find in the Banff area. The meadowlands around the lake have many wildflowers. Cirque Peak (2993m) is a non- technical scramble up scree slopes from Helen Lake. The summit offers stunning panoramic views. The name "Cirque" describes the amphitheater formed by adjacent peaks.

Thanks everyone for another epic day in the mountains. The weather gods were certainly smiling today. A great group, picture perfect vistas, flowers in full bloom... beating the crowds, it was worth the early start!

Hi, Paul, thanks so much for putting me on the list! Looking forward to doing one of my favorite peaks again with all of you. As I live in Canmore, can I meet up with you guys here somewhere in Canmore? Please let me know what works best for the car pool, and I'll arrange to join you and drive my own vehicle with the group.

Hey Paul, long time no see! the fresh-oxygen.com website is no longer around. Vern changed his domain to www.explor8ion.com. Make sure to visit some of the tarns just before the lake, the reflections of dolomite peak can be quite rewarding. http://images114.fotki.com/v74/photos/9/959902/6454902/DSC_5041-vi.jpg
