READ THE WRITE-UP BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THIS EVENT!!!
This is an easy two-day backpacking trip into the mountains. The point campsite provides food storage, tables, and fire pit, which will likely be buried. This location is a great place to start your winter adventure. You will be required to have the physical ability to carry a heavy pack on snow-covered trails.

We will be leaving Calgary at 8:15am please be gassed up, feed, and ready to leave.
It is your responsibility to make sure you have acquired all necessary equipment, clothing, and food for this trip. All outdoor activities involve a certain degree of risk, so it is up to you to be prepared, resilient, self-reliant, responsible, cautious, and aware of surrounding hazards. As well, mountain weather can be unpredictable, so be prepared for unforeseen changes. For safety reasons, if you show up for this event unprepared or with inappropriate clothing and or gear you will not be permitted to continue on the trip. Organizers are not guides. If renting gear please make sure it works and all parts are there.
• Each individual needs to obtain a reservation for “The Point” backcountry campsite. Reservations can be made by calling the Kananaskis backcountry reservation number at 1 (403) 678-3136. Book your reservation under your own name!
• Alberta Parks require that reservations are to be in your possession the duration of the trip. Failing to do so could involve fines and removal from the trip. I will require seeing your reservation prior to leaving Calgary.
• Trip members will be responsible for setting up their own car-pooling prior to the trip start date.
• We will be stopping in Canmore for lunch after the trip. If you are not interested in participating, please make arrangements to car-pool with others not attending.
REQUIRED PRE-TRIP MEETING: November 14, 2013
At the pre-trip meeting all required permits and or reservations need to be presented to the trip organizer, or you risk being removed from the trip. Any fees incurred by the group leader for your participation in the trip must be paid in full by this date. Fees paid by the group leader will be non- refundable and non-transferable (this trip involves commitment). Additional information pertaining to the trip will be provided at the meeting.
