D4: Bull Creek Hills

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION FIRST!

"Every creature is better alive than dead, men and moose and pine trees, and he who understands it aright will rather preserve its life than destroy it."

Henry David Thoreau

• Bull Creek Hills is a lovely short hike, and should be good to do at this time of the year. If the day turns out well, we could additionally do Grass Pass which adds 6km further into the valley. Then we would need to do a car shuttle. We'll see how it goes.

• I've never done this trip, so it'll be an exploration and adventure.

I strongly recommend that you do your own research as well.

That turned out well. Lots of ups and downs, weather on and off, cows and deer, and horses! -- it was thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you all for making this great!

Hey Ugur, what route are we taking out of Calgary to get to Longview? I live in South so if we head out on hiway 8, 22 or Macleod/14 street, I may meet you on this end of town if possible (and catch a ride with someone as I don't have winter tires). Worst case I meet group at Dalhousie.

I gotta tell, although Calgary was having blizzard, the weather wasn't bad today in Black Diamond area. I think it'll get much better tomorrow. It snowed a bit but not so deep that it'd require snowhoes. Just bring your down jackets, hot teas, and a sense of humour :)

I know i shouldn't make plans for a certain hour back in Calgary, but just wondering.. if it's a short hike, would we be able to be back in town by 3. 15... ish?

    November 15, 2013

    • Ugur

Probably not Anna. Even though it's an easier hike, it'll probably be 4 or 5 pm we got back to town.

      November 15, 2013

    • Anna

      Thank u

      November 15, 2013

  • Ugur

Plus I've heard that Calgary will be very snowy on Sunday, whilst K-country be very sunny ;)

    November 14, 2013

  • Ugur

I'm currently checking snow conditions in this area. Bring your snowshoes if you have. It'd be great to have a few people breaking trail in case it gets too snowy.
