Distance: 15.0km Round trip (approx. 7 hours hiking + 3 hrs driving)
Elevation Gain: 720 m
This is a good shoulder season trip with nice views of the peaks at the south end of Highway 40, including Mt Burke to the south. Although there is 720m elevation gain, there is little to no risk of avalanches along this route. We will plan on staying on the trail do a loop. As such, we'll need to leave a car at both ends of the loop along Hwy 40.

TRIP WAIVER AND CONDITIONS: You must sign a trip waiver to attend this event . If you are not a "paid" member at the time of signing up, you will be moved to the Waiting list until proof of payments are available. Yearly membership fee is $20, or $5 for the day, paid Online only. No money will be taken at the meetup location.
This hike is not for beginners, but should be relatively easy for seasoned hikers. There is no scramble involved, but there is some ups and downs involved to complete the loop.
Please be realistic about your abilities. Please gauge your abilities appropriately. Organizers are not here to babysit you.

Driving and Directions:
To get there we'll meet in the parking lot of Anderson LRT Station, near where the LRT Station. From there we'll dirive west on highway 22X (westbound Spruce Meadows Trail). If you drive by Spruce Meadows you know that you're heading in the right direction. At the junction with Highway 22, turn left (south). Follow Highway 22 to Turner Valley. In Turner Valley , Highway 22 turns east to Black Diamond. Follow it. In Black Diamond, Highway 22 turns south. Follow it south. It'll head towards Longview. Look to turn off west before Longview on Highway 541. Follow Highway 541 west for 38km. We will start the hike / snowshoe at the Sentinel Recreational area.
Trail conditions: Unknown. Bring snowshoes and hiking boots.
Gas contributions for drivers is expected by all participants(see below).
CORA trips start at the trailhead. As a convenience to participants only, we meet at the meeting point in Calgary then car pool from there. Please be on time. We don't want to have to wait around long. You may choose to meet us at the trailhead, but please advise us ahead of time. Please indicate in your RSVP COMMENTS if you can drive, if necessary. Please reimburse some $$ to drivers for gas.
EQUIPMENT: Snowshoes & Icers. Weather can change quickly -- rain, snow, wind, warm, or cold -- BE PREPARED. NO COTTON! Dress for Winter/Spring not Summer!
Mandatory - sense of humour, good healthy lunch, at least 2-3 litres of water, layers, sturdy boots
