Trail Conditions and Hazards
Unknown as of yet - hurray for early season! Will update as we get closer.
There is likely to be some amount of snow due to the tree cover.
The final slope can be an avalanche hazard if snow is deep - we will gauge from a safe location when we arrive.
CORA trips start at the trailhead, but as a favor to our participants, we will convene at the meeting point and carpool from there. Please be on time, we won't be waiting more than ten minutes maximum. If you'd like, you may meet us at the trailhead, but please advise the organizers of this ahead of time.
Please indicate in your RSVP comments if you can drive. If you cannot, please bring some money to reimburse drivers.
For drivers, to get to the trailhead: If travelling by car turn south off of Hwy 1 onto Sibbald Creek Trail. (Hwy 68) Keep an eye out for Powderface Trail on your right and follow it to the winter gate at Dawson Recreation Area.
Please dress for both the weather and the unexpected - you never know in the mountains.
Bring no cotton clothing! See here for the reasons why.
