D5: Difficult Hike/ Easy Scramble

  • Aug 23, 2014 · 6:30 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

If you are new to CORA and never hiked with us before, please read the description carefully. We admit paid members only. And there are two options: Either purchasing annual membership ($20) which lasts until the next AGM, or casual hiker's fee ($5) that is valid for one outing. Payments are done online, the blue link on the left (Smart phones/i-phones don't have this app, so it must be done on PC/MAC)

We will try attempting Tangle Ridge based upon Bob Spirko and Matt Hobbs' reports. It looks like a very fine spot. But I might need to be in town earlier, so we might try a shorter hike in Canmore area.

http://www.on-top.ca/Scrambles/2013/Tangle-Ridge-August-2013.html

If we do Tangle Ridge, we might engage in some route-finding, use of map, and compass. If you are looking for a touristy hike or in a rush to go back to town, this obviously isn't the right trip for you.

The weather for tomorrow looks variable in Lake Louise area. The temperatures change from 10-15+ and lower. Make sure you bring raincoats and warm layers -- it won't feel like summer.

If you found yourself in the "not going" list, it means you haven't answered the preliminary questions. If you have found yourself in the "waitlist", it means you haven't read the section regarding payments in the trip description above. Please carefully read what is expected of you and sign up accordingly. Thanks.

There is another space available for the Tangle Ridge trip. I changed my RSVP to "no," since I assumed that I might not make it off the wait-list. (I'm a new member who hasn't hiked with you yet). I have other weekend plans, so pls invite someone else. A hearty thx.
