What a fun trip. Started with a somewhat boring trail, add in an increasing amount of snow, a fair amount of wind. Then after the Summit we did a direct off trail bushwhack back to the cars. The entire group went out to dinner. Nice to meet several new face.

I think dogs are allowed. But they must be on a leash at all times. This area is known for it's wildlife. This is why the trail close's on Dec. 01 for the winter.

If someone brings a dog then you certainly have a choice not to attend. You also need to realize that there will be hunters on the trail and other animals.

I certainly realize that there are hunters and other animals. that's why I don't like dogs being brought to these events.

Snowshoes are not needed. There was almost no snow at the parking lot last weekend and maybe 20 cm at the summit of Wind Ridge. We had no new snow. You must have microspikes.

Are snowshoes necessary, I don't have a pair, and the last few weekends I haven't needed them. But unnoticed familiar with the area.
