Praire Mt. afternoon fast winter hike, D5 because of fast pace

Prairie Mt. is a moderate-difficult hike. We will be doing this at a fast pace.

This will be my last hike till the new year, so I will be pushing myself as fast as I can go up to the top.

We need to take microspike's. We will meet at MEC after the shopping at MEC.

We will not be able to leave extra cars at MEC. We may have to leave them someplace like Sholdice on the way through.

Elevation gain: 700M

Distance: 7 km

Time:about 2 hrs on trail

We will park at the winter gate on Hwy 66.

This trip is not for beginners, I will only take those I know who can push themselves.

Thanks everyone for coming out. Nice Sunny day, but the wind at the summit added some chill. This was not a normal trip for me. Not a lot of talking. My pace left me alone for most of the trip. It was nice to push myself.

Just a reminder, this will be a fast paced hike. I want a workout. I will not be waiting for people going up the trail. I will wait at the Summit for maybe 30 minute than head down. If you did not make it by the time I head down you have to turn around, sorry. Microspikes are needed.
