Introduction

I am an amateur photography who came back to my first love about 4 years ago. Digital is liberating! I enjoy shooting landscapes both intimate and grand as well as floral and street photography.

How long have you been interested in photography?

I have been interested in photography since I was introduced to the concept of using a camera to tell a story back in high school many, many years ago.

Would you classify yourself as a beginner, amateur, or sem-pro photographer?

I would consider myself as an amateur moving into the area of semi-pro.

What are you looking to get out of this group?

I have enjoyed the community of photographers I interact with on Google Plus but I look forward to sharing tips, techniques and inspiration with real people. I hope that I will be introduced to new locations and new ways of looking at things.

This group is for passionate photographers from amateurs to semi-pros who want to get together and take photos and share their experiences with photography and the industry. If you are a beginner, please find other groups that will help you learn how to use your camera. Our group is for the more advanced photog and will help you expand your photography skills in the field and online with social media and sales tools. As well we will help you with the digital darkroom with Adobe Lightroom.

Effective October 1, there will be a $24.00 yearly membership fee which will cover unlimited meetups and the cost of the website. Additional fees maybe required for special meetups such as model shoots and other events.

There are a few requirements to consider when joining:

We would like you to be an active member and participate in the meetups, otherwise you will be removed from the group.
Be courteous to your fellow members
Please RSVP and change your status if you cannot attend a meetup
Have fun!!!

We have some guidelines we would like you to follow:

Three no shows without a valid reason and you are dropped. Send us an email, give us a call or change you status if you can't make it. Organizers don't like to be kept waiting.
As of now please provide a profile photo of yourself. It's especially handy for newcomers just coming to their first meetup and not knowing anyone.
This is a meetup group. Not Facebook. I set this group up for us to take photos and to do it with others. I'm also providing the busy people an opportunity to participate via our "unmeetups" such as the contests and assignments as well as the Bow River Project and the Day in Your Life series. This requires you to pick up your camera and take photos. Isn't that why you joined the group? As of now, please attend at least one meetup (or unmeetup) every three months to remain an active member of this group. Failure to do so will possibly have you removed from the group.
