Philosophy of Mind

Time for another philosophy discussion; all are welcome!

The topic of this month’s meeting will be the relationship between mind and body:

1. Are the mind and the brain identical?

2. Can we conceive of a mind existing without a brain?

3. Could a machine have a mind? How could we decide whether or not a machine has a mind?

4. If we had a complete understanding of brain science, would we then fully understand the human mind? Could we then predict a person’s behaviour by examining their brain?

I’ve booked the conference room in the upstairs of Waves from 2-4. Should be fun!

As much as I would love to come, Father's Day plans take precedence, so I'm out this time, but maybe can come for an hour or so.
