With the changing of the seasons... and with some of us still considering glacier travel this spring-summer ... I thought it would be a good idea to have another practice day at Yam bluffs doing crevasse self extraction.. also to refresh our memories for the crevasse rescue, ie z-pulleys etc.
This day out at the bluffs is specific to CMSC, for information purposes only. I am not going to require or a prerequisite of having taken a "crevasse rescue" course or debate how you acquired your knowledge, just that you have a good basic understanding of what is needed to do crevasse rescue.
That being stated people that intend to be on glaciers this upcoming season will be given priority.
The weather at this time of year is very changeable so please come prepared for snow-rain-blazing sun.
Please note that this list is not all-inclusive but at starting point
30 l+ backpack with the following.
Gear specific to this event
ATC autoblock device
4 locking carabiners
4 non-locking carabiners
2 ski ties
