I have wanted to do this for a while and although I'm not sure my fitness will be any good, it would be fun to do this as a relay team.

Any others interested? Depending upon the interest we could make multiple teams of 2 or 4.

    From race organizer...

I am sorry to say the 2013 MEC Vert180 Race and Clinic are cancelled today.

We will reschedule the clinic to be part of the Ken Jones Classic held at Lake Louise on February 8th, more information to follow.

You have one of two options for entry fee compensation:

    1. We can refund your entry fee it will be sent out in the mil
    or
    2. You can transfer your entry fee to the COP race on April 5th which will be formatted similarly (hopefully we will be ski touring in T-shirts!)

Please notify me via email which option you would like to choose.

    December 6, 2013

    • Alex J.

Sounds excellent! I have never met you or Lori or Robert in person so should be interesting finding each other!!!

      December 6, 2013

    • Robert M.

was thinking the same thing, we may need to rejig the team(s) as only 2/4 or 1 allowed, how will we recognize each other ?

      December 6, 2013

  • Robert M.

Hey Alex, it may be a little late but if there's a team forming I might be able to swing it. Did consider the solo but then my survival instincts kicked in - relay is just a bit more realistic.

    December 4, 2013

    • Alex J.

Hi Robert - I believe I signed up and created a team which you could join...

      Team Name = csmc
      Team Password = fun

      December 5, 2013

    • Robert M.

      December 5, 2013

  • Alex J.

No fear...they are calling for -10C on Saturday...maybe we won't freeze our asses off!

    December 3, 2013

  • Tamara

Does anyone know if I could just sign up for the clinic. Im new to touring but not to skiing, perhaps a relay team would be a good place to start. I am interested in teaming up. Cheers T

No worries Mike and Terri. Hope to see you out on future trip this season.

    November 29, 2013

  • Michael S.

Sorry. I cannot get out of a work commitment.

    November 29, 2013

  • Michael S.

Sorry at this time to do this. But I have to change my RSVP. I have been trying to avoid a work commitment to make time for this event, but that us not going to happen. I am sorry but I can not make this event.

    November 29, 2013

  • Alex J.

    How's the training coming folks? For me, I'm getting off the couch but barely ;}

I have been over to the large toboggan hill off Crowchild and 16th a number of nights this week for some laps (even got in some powder last weekend there if you can believe it)...and will be out a few times over the weekend and week.

Its a decent place to get the legs moving both up and down for those who don't have the time to escape the city on weeknights or between kids soccer!

    November 29, 2013

    • Lori

      Still not skiing yet :(

      November 29, 2013

  • Gerry R.

Thanks Terri for monitoring the registration page!

Yes you can now register here https://secure.eventsonline.ca/events/mec_vert180/

You register individually and then have the option to indicate if you are on a team. I assume you can register as solo and then join a team later.

I created a team as well.

    Team Name = csmc
    Team Password = fun

So feel free to join the team if you like at registration or later.

  • Alex J.

It looks like they are in the process of updating the registration page now.

    http://vert180.blogspot.ca/p/registration.html

Now it says we pay per person (as Lori thought) and so best bet is for people to register directly and pay on their registration page. Then afterwards we can figure out teams if people wish. I know Terri is talking about doing it solo. That's cool.

I probably would do it with others as a team. Chris mentioned he would be into that too.

Either way we can work that out....just remember it sold out last year before the race.

    November 1, 2013

    • Lori

Yes that's what I meant... I was registering solo as it is the same price regardless .. Team or solo for everyone as long as you don't wait till race day, then it's $50. I'm still in for teaming up though, I don't think that's a problem :)). Terri so just sign up yay!!

      November 1, 2013

  • Alex J.

Sorry Lori not Terri was talking about racing solo. (Terri I did get your phone message!)

    November 1, 2013

  • Alex J.

Last chance for other CSMCers to join us in this event. We will be registering teams today when registration opens. We expect it will be sold out shortly as it was last year.
