Midnight Peak via Baldy Pass Trail

Join me for an easy scramble/ hike up Midnight peak. This hike involves gain of approximately 900m and the main difficulty is mostly in steepness of the hike at the very end. If snow is present some kind of traction device, such as micro spikes would be helpful. Total length of the hike is 4-6h. We should be back at meetup location before 5PM.

We will park near Baldy Pass / Porcupine Group Campground (about 13.5km south on Hwy 40) and proceed to ascend to Baldy pass gaining about half of total elevation gain over about 4km. Once at the pass we turn towards our objective trying to follow faint use trails/ cross country. The last section of this hike may be covered in snow and ice thus slippery. It is recommended to have some kind of traction device handy to put on your hiking boots if needed.

Anyone want to carpool? I'm in Bowness, near the Petro Canada. I don't drive but am happy to share gas and so on.

Maybe we add recommendation of gaiters to the list, it did rain a lot yesterday and I assume most of it turned into white powder up in the mountains. We will have great views!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
