Casual friendly poker game at my place.

First-timers and newbies are encouraged to come out! All levels welcome, but in case it is your first time, please do make an effort to read the rules and the hands beforehand.

BYOB, 20$ buy-in. No re-buys (except if you lose in the first hand...) Blinds at 5/10 for the first hour, then raised every half hour.

We can play Cards against Humanity after poker with those interested.

Late cancellations (i.e., two hours before the meetup) without reason or no-shows will be banned from future meetups.

Play starts promptly at 8 pm so don't come too late.

Prize money with 14 ppl: 40-80-140. $10 for first elimination. $10 house fee (pays for this website).

Buzz #1807 in the lobby and I'll let you in. 18th Floor. Go left when leaving the elevator, first door left.

Phone/[masked] 4958.

Pineapple is the same as Hold'em with the exception that you are dealt THREE cards instead of two, and you discard ONE before the flop.

So here's the deal. I have only played poker once. (Insert red cheeks). Should I assume this isn't the place for me? Seems a little hard core. Would that be accurate?

Hi Danielle. Most people will have played before but like I mentioned, newbies are welcome. There's a reason it's a meetup, and like Paul says, it's for fun and to meet new people. So as long as you know the difference between a high card and a pair, you should be fine :) And don't mind Effi's scaring tactics ;)

Thanks Paul and Ben for the vote of confidence. Effi, that's actually quite funny I'll be quite easy to take so there won't be much fun in it for you. Ben, I believe it is at your house and there is a limit so should I wait to hear if someone backs out as there is a waitlist? Thanks
