CWBG Meeting #4 - Kilkenny Room Still Kickin' ;)

The 4th Get Together since Liz & I have taken over this Group will be cut in half: a post When World's Collide Conference Meet Up Debrief headed by Liz then a talk by Yours Truly on the Fears & Foibles of Writers and their Writing. Later, a reading of the 5-Word Game anonymous submissions.:D Make up a miximum of two paragraphs, incorporating all 5 words below, type it anonymously, throw it in a white envelope and lay it on the table at the start of this meeting. This is NOT a critique, just a fun game to see how diverse and wonderfully unique everyone's takes can be on the same five words! :D The words for August 22nd are: Tortilla Chip, Castle, Lemon, Straw, Emotion - HAVE FUN! :D Liz and I look forward to meeting up with you all again and revisit the fun and exchange the mega info we all received at the Collide Conference...:D

I enjoyed my first meeting. The review of the conference was helpful as were some of the later exercises. Time management suffered from too much to cover. We had no opportunity to react to the 5 word creations.

I totally agree, Peter...the Conference De-Brief sucked away a huge chunk of time. Liz and I are still trying to tweak the meetings to get the right "mix" of Info to Free Talk Time, and yes, we'll up the time we read the 5-Word Game results for more time to exchange reactions and to better hear before the entertainment starts in the front room...:) I'm so glad you attended and hope you return...I'd like to see you get out of your motivational slump and start writing on all your global adventures...you, no doubt, have many incredible stories to tell and time's-a-wastin'...:D

Hi Barb, My husband Dave is going to come along tmrw night if thats okay? He loves talking about criminals and psychopaths, psychology and human behaviour and devience-so you will be in good company! He also like to draw and write political and philosophical poetry. We will probably be late as I will be coming straight from work-around[masked]hrs. I have written my story with the words so hopefully you won't have read them by then..

No worries, Rachel, we won't read the 5-Word Game til the end...:D Sure, bring your hubby along, we will give him a reason to point & laugh...:D See you at 745pm...:)

New members to Liz and I and the CWBG- Sugar, William and Peter - we gladly look forward to meeting all three of you this Thursday as I'm sure our other members do as well...:D As mentioned, a de-brief on the Collide Conference headed by Liz and then Yours Truly yakking on the Fears & Foibles of Writers, the Rose & Crown drinks should go down well with both...;) Everyone, don't forget your 5-Word Game attempts...:D

I totally enjoy this group and recommend it to anyone who might read this. In no way did I have a gun put to my head to make this statement. It was totally of my own choice ... can I go now?

    1 · August 16, 2013

    • Barbie T.

Yes, Rick, you may go now...nicely done...would you like me to remove the cuffs first? I'm nothing if not fair...;) Remember though, I have people, who could find your people, who know where you live...or at least drink...:P

Those 5 words, are they in that order, or is any order ok?

    August 14, 2013

    • Barbie T.

ANY order, Keith, just that your prose has to use all five...:) Have fun, I did...:D

From this day forward, the CWBG House is YOUR HOUSE and you can be more at ease with the fact that the Members who are now on Our Members List, who can view our comings and goings in the CWBG, actually are engaged with Us and care, people YOU have actually met and conversed with at our meetings or will meet soon.

I hope all of you understand this decision and appreciate that I want to make you all feel at Home in every sense of the word.

    Yours Very Sincerely, Your Hacker-In-Chief,
    Barbie...:)

Heads Up To All CWBG Members...

As of today, the Members List comprises of REAL ACTIVE members of the CWBG, people like all of you, who are engaged and actively participating in this Group. I, with ample warning, emailed all members who had joined the CWBG PRIOR to May 25th, 2013 under the leadership of the two former leaders, who Liz and I never hear from, who never comment on this Meet Up Page nor on our Facebook Page and who never attend any of our meetings. This was NOT meant as a meanie leader act for I actually hated doing it BUT it needed to be done so the rest of Us would know who was who in here and not have our conversations or Pages viewed by unknown parties, ghost members, lurkers, people who are on here only as an avatar but in no other fashion care about nor engage at all with this Group. (continued above)

GROUP MEETINGS LOCATION: The CWBG Meetings will continue to be at the Rose & Crown until further notice. For now, it is the best atmosphere for this group and at least a central location for all to reach. We are never married to a location however so any other suggestions always will be considered. Davey's suggestion of Titans Twister bar is just not suitable.

Hope all are still okay with the R&C as I believe you all were when I asked last night...:)

R&C is a nice place, the music wasn't too loud. Central is good. The only downside is parking, and I have to say it was better than during stampede. But that's why I was a few minutes late, circling the block looking for a spot.

      July 26, 2013

    • Barbie T.

Yes, I agree, Keith, the atmosphere at least is pleasant and quite good for talking, the parking can be an issue there and I regret that...all I can say is if you arrive more around 6:30ish, there are more open spaces but I know that's not always possible for people, coming over after work...any suggestions as per a time change for meeting always open for discussion too...:) So sorry for the parking inconvenience...:(

Heads Up Gang: Heather has mentioned that for anyone interested in Memoir writing, the Story Circle Network is a place to check out for that...thanks, Heather, this contact may be extremely useful to some...will also add to a Page on our Meet Up site later this week...:)
