PHOTO CONTEST: Let's see who can take the most creative, artistic, or just darned "wow" photo at the Zoo! Be sure to bring your camera (video, too - there are new ANIMATED figures to shoot... figuratively, I mean...) to capture the magic. No prizes for the winning photo, but recognition will be bestowed!
I have invited the Photography Meetup Group to join us, as it's a fun photo opportunity for all. My own photos from 2006 were awful, so I invited them to offer any advice (shooting outdoors, in the dark, with specific bright lights, etc... can be a challenge), and at least one member has offered his assistance - thanks, Michael!! It was quite good. Shame the weather was so cold.

I'd like to thank you all for coming out to this Meetup under the awful conditions we had:

Deanna - for making the Zoo your 1st DSN event - trust me, we DO do some indoor things, too!!!

    Leo - the same!!

Bruce & Isaac - OK, 2nd for Bruce, but 1st for Isaac... :!<>

Alison and John - for continuing to support the group by attending regularly - 88 attendances between you 2 alone!

David, Colin & Rebecca - just for being there!

...and of course, the Photography Group members!

Thank you all for coming out in the horrible cold, traffic, delays, etc...
At least we got about a 25% turnout - not bad, I think, for the conditions.
We waited until about 7:50, so I hope nobody arrived just after that.
...and I'm sorry I referenced meeting at the MAMMOTH under the train station, that is no longer there! :<

It was good fun, good company.
Sorry about the cold, but like I was saying "I can only do so much!" :><)
It was good to see a couple of familiar faces, and several new ones.

I thank Michael from the Photography group for sharing his expertise & suggestions.
I think several people got better shots than they might have otherwise, so it was an educational, fun & chilly (emphasis on the chilly!!) evening...

Thanks to a short attention span (my brain must have frozen!), I missed half of the group entering the Safari Lounge - I'd seen signs "Private Function" and assumed it was not open, so we continued to the exit, thinking you'd raced ahead.
I hope the lounge was warm and the chocolate was hot - and we'll see you all around another time!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
