Cambridge Tech Meetup - 2011 Renewal edition!

  • May 18, 2011 · 6:45 PM
  • Judge Business School

Doors open at 6:30, demos start strictly at 7pm.

The evening consists of demos and demos only.  (PowerPoint is actively discouraged.)  Each company/technology has seven minutes to demo their product; all of them developed in Cambridge!  Within one hour you'll see interesting demos of five different companies (hardware and software, at different stages of development).

The people/companies demo'ing include:

  • Cambridge Temperature Concepts
  • Breathing Buildings
  • Magic Solver
  • Qoncept
  • PhD project by Daniel Wagner on mobile users/statistics

(We'd like to encourage the post-Meetup discussion to head to Brown's restaurant/bar- right outside the entrance of Judge Business School.)

Great to hear about some exciting technologies and firms. Real mixture of raw and more established. Unfortunate that the visualiser camera system didn't work, which make it much harder to do good demos of apps. Second meetup where this has happened - needs sorting properly for next time.

Great meetup with a good format (not too long for each pitch, good Q/A) and good pitches.
Thanks for the feedback of the audience on our new iPhone app Free App Magic http://bit.ly/FreeAppMagic

    Some interesting products.
Seemed a shame that, with 3 App-based presentations, there was no decent way to actually show the app on the screen.
I was unclear what the purpose of the meeting was. It wasn't a "pitch" - no-one asked for money, employees, or any help. Was it publicity? Education for Judge students? Or just showing one's peers what one has achieved... ?

Looking forward to pitching our latest iPhone app Free App Magic tomorrow night!
Participants are welcome to download the app for free beforehand for live participation to the demo! Thanks! http://bit.ly/FreeAppMagic

Unfortunately we won't finalize the running order until tomorrow evening. (It depends on what equipment most everyone will need to use, and how to best transition between them.) Sorry!

Jed - I am gutted that I won't be able to make tomorrow night's meetup! But looking forward to the next one. I would be happy to give a demo of http://www.Qiqqa.com next time round if you are looking for demonstrators. It is 1 year old this month, and being written next to my PhD at the Computer Laboratory.

    Cheers,
    Jimme ([masked])
