Dear Amir,

This sounds very interesting. Is it like last year's start up weekend at SJIC?
Now I'm not a techie guy - well I know enough - but would like to know more about the support for the business development proposition. I can help on the marketing side but I'm nota available all weekend.

Would you also let people know the following?

Just one month left to enter Discovering Start-Ups 2011

Tech start-ups, inventors and budding entrepreneurs only have one month left to enter the Cambridge Wireless Discovering Start-Ups 2011 competition and get the chance to pitch to leading venture capitalists, angels and industry investors. Representatives from Angels, VCs, Vodafone Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Innovacom, and leading players such as Microsoft, RIM, Nokia, Broadcom, Orange and ARM will  be among those lining up to pick the winners and provide  expert advice.

Discovering Start-Ups also rewards the winners with cash prizes and free business and consultancy services. The competition is free to enter for companies in the East of England or Cambridge Wireless members nationally (So worth joining).  For more information or to enter, please visit www.cambridgewireless.co.uk/discoveringstartups .  You can also follow @cambwireless on Twitter for all the latest on Discovering Start-Ups 2011.

Thanks and good luck
Kevin

Hi folks,

As part of the SVc2UK events, Cambridge University Entrepreneurs is running an Appathon! Registration is open so sign up now at: http://bit.ly/appathon

The Cambridge Appathon is a two-day hackathon event taking place on the 8th/9th October in the Computer Laboratory.  Hundreds of students across the country will also take part in regional Appathons.

The aim is for people to get together and build web and mobile applications on well-known consumer facing platforms, using newly released government data sets.   We'll have support available on the day from the platform providers (to be revealed - though I'm sure you can guess!) and also the government data guys.

There are some spectacular prizes available for the best apps, including trips to Silicon Valley!

As you can imagine, numbers are strictly limited so please register now to save your place! http://bit.ly/appathon

For more info about the overall events, see svc2uk.com/appathon

If you have any questions, please email me (Amir) at [address removed]

Thanks and I hope to see you there!
Amir
