Hi everyone,

I am making an attempt to bring Java (or JVM) developers in Cambridge together in a better / more focused fashion than it's happening at the moment.

I have launched the Cambridge Java Community meetup: - and if you are excited about Java, a striving developer or experienced architect trying to get the most out of Java, then you should join !

We are connected to the highly successful London Java Community and can use their infrastructure of speakers and event-organisers.

What can you expect to take away from our meetups?

It will be a round-trip through ecosystem: Libraries, tools, processes, patterns, frameworks (web & mobile), infrastructure / platforms, plus potentially other JVM languages like Scala. Come, learn, go home and try it yourself and explore options to make your own development more efficient / easier / cheaper / faster / "better".

Plus: Every meetup will include a few "lightning pitches": If you are stuck with a problem, you have a "someone must have done this before" moment or if you just made a great app (or library) you want to tell us about - this is your chance to turn to the community and ask for help, ideas or feedback.

We will meet up this November for the first time and you can still influence the direction in which the group is going - it's a community after all:

See you soon
