Re Screencast recording software.I found Hypercam on my laptop with Windows 7 gave a black screen.Apparently it is a fairly common problem.Bandicam works very well, but the audio is FAR superior with a USB microphone.http://www.bandicam.com/downloads/

Some excellent resources, thanks Mili
1 · January 25, 2014
Mili, as there is obviously no one best time for everyone to post on social media would you explain how these figures were arrived at please?
Many thanks Mili,Very useful information
Of course Ann, these statistics were measured using many variables; market research on most common times people use specific social networks been one, but one of the main ones been, researching the times when people get the most interactions, re-tweets, likes, shares, comments, mentions, etc. This can be done by simple test so you get to know your audience, tweeting at different times and see the interaction or most of us, social media strategists use as well software to measure our clients mentions and the best time within their audience (following) to create or start that interaction. It is important to understand this in Twitter for example because most people will miss tweets easily depending on the amount of people they follow due to the fast refresh of their "timeline" when looking at tweets.
0 · January 25, 2014
The statistics as any statistic is the average this does not mean you should only use social media at this time, it just gave you more probabilities to have your tweet or post read by the most people possible. I personally always suggest to still test your audience by doing it at different times and analizing when do you get the most interactions.
I hope that was useful. I was asked if it was possible to know when can you get the most people to read your articles or if there were statistics on it and yes there are many companies that have run statistics on it most in the US, but I suggest getting to understand and learn about your audience so you can share your valuable information at a time that most of them might be ready to read it and interact with you.
Thanks Mili - It would be interesting to know how many subjects there were in the research and the spread between B2B and B2C. I think there are too many variables for an average to be of much use. It will be very different for people who are running B2B or B2C businesses and whether they are looking for sales leads, doing research, customer service or any of the other things that might be appropriate to their strategy. If anyone wants to find out when their Twitter followers are most likely to be on-line I recommend http://www.tweriod.co...

Thanks for sharing Richard
You're welcome; how did your interview go?
tx Richard, much to check out for a novice! Could you also share the link to your gardening site?!
You're welcome. Here's the link to my gardening website: http://www.plantadvic...
Interview was good, thanks. Although I have perhaps realised my tendency to get overly-excited...Have decided I would benefit from media training so have just bought a book about it and asked my agent if she can recommend a short course. Just think it may be useful to learn some moderation (if that's possible for me!!)

One the biggest problems with radio interviews is the 'laid-back' speaker. My producer always advises people to ramp it up until they sound manic and then they'll come across as interesting instead of boring. Don't lose your edge Sam!

I think it's good that you're enthusiastic and passionate about your topic; I'm with Ann on that one. Don't change who YOU are.

OK, my 2014 blogging resolutions - use video and get Google+ into my head. So no time to lose, I've just started using Vine. No doubt we will debate the best platform for bloggers but I love the speed and ingenuity required for a 6 second video. And yesterday I embedded my first Vine video in a blogpost. It got a lot of viewings from Ho Chi Minh City....don't quite know why this location suddenly popped up on my analytics. Anyway have a look at the video - I welcome feedback! http://yasminchopin.com/index.php/interior-design-art-book-jessica-zoob/

Yeay! I love your site and your Vine experiment Yasmin. Everything looks fresh and fun and interesting. The great thing about Vine is that people always watch them more than once so so they stay on your page!
I can think of lots of Vine subject material and I think it's a nice insight on a blogger's life. Glad you like it Ann.

Hey Yasmin, Google+ is a tough cookie, but one worth persisting with to crack it (apparently). I'm exploring it myself, as part of my wider SEO work. I think it's going to be more and more significant as Google forces the hands of users and businesses to join it.
1 · January 12, 2014
The biggest thing for bloggers on G+ is to link to your Google+ profile using rel="author". This enhances the search facility and generates a profile of you when someone does a search on your name.
1 · January 13, 2014
Certainly does. I've noticed that Wordpress.com (Wordpress hosted) blogs, now include a means of adding in your Google+ ID, so that it incorporates this. Not sure how effective this is yet, but seems to be on the right track.
If you have a self hosted Wordpress blog (.org) and add the Jetpack plugin it gives you this option too - as well as loads of other features. I highly recommend it.
Thanks for this prompt. I've just used a plugin for the Google+1 button. I haven't tested it yet but it was easy and looks good.
0 · January 13, 2014
The talk is that Google might start giving SEO credibility to people with more people following their G+ profile, so very much a platform to be getting involved with. The G+ communities are also very helpful places for like-minded individuals to congregate.

I liked the video Yasmin - it's catchy & interesting! Love to learn how to do that ...
Absolutely, authorship is huge, and content is still king. I did a post on it here: http://dexterousdiva.... x
Thanks Jo, read your post and had a go at getting Google authorship. I think I've done it.... not totally sure...I've got that little photo coming up now in a Google search.Does that mean I've done it?

A question about video.... If music is playing in it do you need to worry about copyright?
