Thanks to those who were able to attend out first meeting. Here's the review of what was decided:
WHERE TO MEET - Please vote on two places in Harvard Square in one of the two new polls
RULES - 1) Each book that we read must not be larger than 325 pages 2) We will alternate monthly between nonfiction and fiction books. If a fiction book wins the first poll, then a nonfiction book will be read second 3) Everyone will propose 2 new books at each meeting, that they'd like to read next. I will take this compiled list to create a new poll. Everyone will then have 3 days to vote. I'll then post which book won the most votes and that will be the book we'll all read and discuss in the next meeting. (#2 and #3 do not have to be permanent. We can try them out and adjust them to accomodate the majority of members)
HOMEWORK FOR EVERYONE - 1) Please e-mail to me 1 fiction book that you'd like to read, and 1 nonfiction book that you'd like to read no later than this coming Friday, 9/28 at 5 pm 2) Then vote in the polls on which book you'd like to read first, and where you'd like to meet no later than this coming Sun, 9/30 at 11:59 pm
The Cambridge Book Club is based in Cambridge MA and is unique in alternating fiction and non-fiction reads. Reading selections are based on member suggestions and final member vote. We've been going strong for 2 years and we look forward to reading together and discussing the books we read! All readers, all ages are welcome!
