There are a number of Audax rides setting out from Henham, Saffron Walden on 15th March, with distances ranging from 50k-200k. I'm thinking of trying for the 110k, but I could easily be talked down :-)

Price is £7 and entries are requested 2 weeks before the date (so basically, the end of this week!)

Whut thunk the rest of you?

You can also print the Audax UK form by downloading from their website.

Hi I've added a bit more information  below. It looks like they will be returning to the club base so driving should be a problem

Saturday 15th March

We invite your entry for our Randonnées based as always upon our Club Bungalow near Henham. The events follow our traditional figure of eight format, returning to the HQ for mid-event re-fuelling. All three courses are very much based upon the lanes so you are assured of a nice quiet ride. Mudguards are not mandatory but, because of the nature of the roads, we strongly recommend their use both for your own comfort and as a courtesy to other riders. After the event relax with us over a cuppa and yet more food.

All this excitement for the modest entry fee of £5.00 (plus two C5 SAE's please).

If you intend to travel to the start by train, the HQ is close to Elsenham Station which is on the London Liverpool Street to Cambridge line. Please consult the "Greater Anglia" website for cycle carriage details and also last minute details of any engineering works causing disruption to services.

Did you have another crash? :/

Great ride, thanks for waiting for me on the hills! Hopefully next time I won't have a cold!

Hi, I do not want to say it definitely, yet, but I will probably pass on this one after all - I was ill two weeks ago, got betterm went to bike&beer last weekend and got ill again, so I do not want to push it too much... (Btw, that is also the reason for no morning rides this week.) In any case I will let you know at the end of the week.

Hi, I am better than 3 days ago, but it is still not completely ok and I do not want to push it again and spend another week being ill, so I will stay home tomorrow...

OK, well I've paid my £7.50 for the 100 :-) I'll likely be driving down if anyone else needs a lift...

Hi Daniel, somehow I must of missed your earlier message, sorry :-S. I had agreed to give Mareq a lift - but after his message say he wasn't likely to be coming I offered first refusal to someone else off-list. I'll get back to you if plans change.

Those of you who have signed up should have been emailed routesheets by now... if not let me know and I'll forward it to you. Those of you who haven't done any training might be glad to know that the 100k is a figure '8' route, so there's the option of bailing out at the halfway point if you must!

  • Jose A D.

I want to do it. I'm just concern that I didn't train at all and I signed up for the 100k

    March 11, 2014

  • Jose A D.

I'll be up for the 110k or the 56k

    February 26, 2014

    • Julie S.

      I've entered the 110k.

      March 2, 2014

    • Jose A D.

      I did it last week!

What's the time limit for the 110? That's about the top I'd consider, if anyone does fancy doing less...

    February 26, 2014

    • Neil H.

Audaxes work on a "minimum speed including cake stops", usually of 10mph; so for 110km that's nearly 7 hours!

      February 26, 2014

    • Julie S.

Last year I did 100 miles in 7 hours 15 with a couple of cake stops so will be disappointed if it takes me 7 hours to do 68 miles!

      February 27, 2014

  • Mareq

Hi, is there some place in a car still free somewhere, please? :)

    February 26, 2014

    • Neil H.

Yes I should be able to give you a lift.

      February 27, 2014

    • Mareq

      Thanks :)

      February 27, 2014

  • Julie S.

56k is only 35 miles! I need to get into some longer rides as training for the Hilly 100 so I'm up for the 110k / 69 miler.

    February 26, 2014

  • Daniel B.

I'll do the 110k or 56k, and will probably be taking the train there.

    February 26, 2014

  • Jose A D.

Anyone driving there from CB? :)

    February 26, 2014

  • Julie S.

I'm up for the 110k. Julie
