Bike and Beer!

Hi all,

Hope you are looking forward to the Cambridge Randomly-Active Bikehash tomorrow.  We will be running a trail from Royston railway station.

This is a fun day out (don't expect to get back early!).  A kind of treasure hunt on bikes with a nice pub lunch and beer at the end. It will be predominantly a road ride with a few optional off road trails.

The ride will be about 30 miles at a relaxed pace.

The ride will commence at Royston and finish one or two stops down the line, near to another railway station to get back to Cambridge,

Train times from Cambridge to get you to the start of the ride are:

09.55 am

10.30am

The 09.55 should allow time for a quick coffee beforehand.

Don't forget, if you have done the hash before there is a small charge of around £2.00!

Neil and I won't be there at the start as we are the hares and will be running ahead of you but a group of cyclists hanging around the station should be easy to spot.  If you need my mobile for any reason, the number is 07976 306965.

See you tomorrow.

So, for those who are still going: the train from CBG station departs at 10:30. Let's meet at 10:15 in front of the station... If need be, my phone number is [masked]

I will let you know ASAP but I may be viewing a house Saturday - at the moment that is the only day the estate agent I offering me due to their access agreement. I need to find a home so may be forced to drop out as the place looks really nice.

Sorry but estate agent not flexible - I am going to have to pass- I hope it is worth it for me as been looking forward for weeks! Look forward to meeting you another time.

Hi guys. This seems like a terrible windfall of last minute cancellations. Of which I am about to add. My apologies as I am extremely disappinted that I can no longer attend. I have two dogs - one of whom was sick this past week and was on the mend just in time to pass it on to his brother. Cycling on a sunny day and looking for flour vs scouring floors and carpets with a sponge. I know where I'd rather be. So sorry. Please enjoy!

Hello - is this a road or trail route?

    April 6, 2014

  • Neil H.

Well as I haven't organized a route yet, or booked myself onto the audax it looks like the ride will be going ahead as initially advertised, on the 12th! Currently the plan is to start from Royston station. On!On!

I'll probably go down on the train an hour earlier to start laying the trail.

Neil, Let me know what train you're catching if you still want help to lay the trail.

I'm not sure I can go to this one... I'll leave my RSVP as yes just to keep myself updated with the comments.

Just FYI, there's a 100km audax in Norwich on this date that has caught my eye. I've asked for someone to lay the trail on this date, but if no-one comes forward the date will be moved. Given that the 19th is a looooong bank holiday weekend, I'll be tempted to move it forward.

I will be out on my bike anyway. :)

I am not fussed about the date so if you want to move it to accommodate the Audax ride (which is a bit beyond me!) - please go ahead.
