I've previously mentioned that I have asked maker-entrepreneur Tim Williams, from Luma, to visit us in Cambridge Makespace to talk about his YrStore concept, and that we would ask Metail's CTO to talk as well.
I still plan to do that in September, and I'll update the group accordingly.
Nevertheless, I know that a few of you work in London, and thought I'd extend an invite to a talk + networking event I'm running on Monday night.
Tim specialises in using cheap technology to create engaging in-store digital experiences. He uses a combination of back-projection, infra-red and bluetooth "aerosols" and mirrors that deliver digital content over the top of one's reflection.
There will also be three other speakers. The theme is about leaving corporate life for the entrepreneurial path! Plenty of you have either done that, or considering doing that, so if you are interested in a talk + networking near the beautiful Regents Canal (edge of Hoxton and Islington) please come along. The nearest tube stations are Old Street and Angel Islington. It's also pretty easy to reach from Kings Cross / St Pancras.
I'm organising under a series I'm doing for "Women in Computing". this is completely open to both women and men, although there are likely to be mainly women attending.
If you can make it please register your interest on http://www.kweekweek.com/woinco/1372f115c1 where you'll find more info about all the speakers.
First five people to register with promo code IOT can register for free. After that there is a nominal charge of £2.50 or £1 if you bring a guest, or you can pay with Tweets :-)
Have a great weekend, and enjoy the sunshine!!!
