Around the globe, the consequences of the climate crisis are already apparent. Temperatures are increasing, storms are becoming stronger and sea levels are rising. These profound changes are having trickle down effects across our planet-species loss is accelerating, desertification is spreading and tropical diseases are expanding into new areas. What can be done to halt these changes? How can we promote positive, sustainable change across the globe?

I completely agree. I just wish I hadn't had to sit through the seemingly endless stream -- 35 minutes! -- of people introducing him.

I think much of the introduction was in honor of a great man and technical mind behind the "front" man, Al Gore. That said, VP Gore was clearly an engaging speaker who made it worth the 90+ minutes outside and cramped quarters inside. I enjoyed the lectures and was sorry time wasn't available to head over to Algiers after.

I hope he talks about some of his escapades with Tommy Lee Jones while they were roomies @ Harvard

I hope Al Gore will further discuss why he invented the Internet or explain in depth the future importance of lock boxes. Looking forward to the discussions.

Why has Al Gore been connected with global warming by some of the general public? Could it be that Al Gore is held responsible for causing climate change ?

Wait, what? Surely you can't be serious.

Frank, it's not clear what your question is or what you're trying to say.

I am getting over the flu, so I might not be able to make it now. I will try but I am going to remove my RSVP for others.

Just realized this is tomorrow. My friend is coming in from Ohio. So I'm not gonna be able to attend unfortunately. Also besides the fact that it would be appallingly rude to ask her to be willingly dragged along during a visit, she's a Republican...

Just discovered and joined your group and then found this page -- what good luck! Might be nice to sit with other members for this event -- any ideas where to sit, or stand? "Blue" scarf or hat, maybe? I could arrive by 6:30.
