Dinner anyone?

Update: We'll meet at Algiers around 7 for dinner/snacks/drinks, whatever you're in the mood for.  I'll arrive a few minutes early to see about seating.

As for the snow - I'm hoping the rain tomorrow afternoon will melt it and it'll be a non-issue, but we'll keep an eye on it.

Looking forward to seeing ya'll!

Hi all, there will not be a meditation meetup scheduled for Tuesday 3/19, but would folks like to meet for dinner and/or drinks in Harvard Square or nearby on the red line?

I know at least a few of you are interested :). Post some suggestions for modestly-priced venues and we'll figure something out!

Yes, I'm with everyone else, I thoroughly enjoyed my time. My only regret is I can't remember all the authors and thinkers (well, Ghandi I can remember) that were mentioned. If any of you have the inclination, could you post names or book or blog titles to the Discussions Message Board? Thank you!

Food, discussion, atmosphere, mood was enough to keep me present and engaged. Thanks for not meditating! hehehe

Really enjoyed everyone's company, we'll have to do this again. Love the coffee house!

Jerry is right: "decide" is from Latin "decido" (long 'i') "to detach by cutting." I queried it at dinner because there's also "decido" (short 'i') that means "to fall" (whence "deciduous", as in trees whose leaves fall in autumn. Similarly to "decido" "to detatch by cutting", the verb "puto" (from which we get mental verbs such as "compute", "impute", "putative", etc.) originally meant "to prune" (as in branches).

*mental words ("putative" is an adjective, duh)

Sorry I won't be able to make it. Too cold and slopping outside for me. Will try to make a future event.

Hey folks, just got in from outside. It's slushy out there, but not icy (at least not on my street in Davis Sq), so I'm going to plan to keep dinner on for tonight. How do the rest of you feel? Hope you can still make it, looking forward to seeing everyone.

Sorry that I need to back out of this outstanding venue; I am 'pre-occupied' this Tuesday evening.

Sadly, I am pre-occupied this Tuesday. Great venue for 'strong drink'

This thread is about something on Tues 3/18 to replace our usual 7pm meditation, yes?

      Oops, yes, 3/19.

Except for coffee, which is intoxicating by some definitions.

    Hi, Jen.

I was thinking I was going to miss everyone on Tuesday. What a great idea! Isn't there some meditaranian/middle eastern place upstairs from the Brattle Theater? It might be too expensive.

Clover is great, IMO - but neither quiet NOR contemplative NOR exactly conversational, but hey... others might think differently.

I'm tied up on Tuesday evenings with Mandarin chat in the Longwood Medical Area.

Bertucci's? Seating is a little tricky, but it's Harvard's spring break so my guess is that the restaurant won't be that crowded. It is on the pricier side, though (if you order a full entree, that is).

Always a good one, Pat. I'll let the suggestions roll in until this evening and then we can finalize a location this evening.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
