Breath or Sound Meditation

Join us for a 20-minute silent meditation, in which you may choose to pay attention to your breath or ambient sound.

Then we'll have a discussion.

We usually go out afterwards for a bite to eat. Since we sometimes go to Panera, I though you might be interested in this article which states that Panera gets the highest marks for nutrition among national fast-food chains

    Here is the quote I mentioned. Ardency is purposefulness related to the future. Alertness relates to the present (what most people refer to as mindfulness). Mindfulness is memory and so relates to the past.

    To repeat what I said at the meeting: I speak only for myself here. Reading Beck is a matter of personal taste; she's on Oprah, and some people may think that she goes too far in the direction of "magic" and being "psychic". I'm something of a spiritual omnivore, especially when it comes to themes of love, inspiration, and connection, so I roll with it (and take it figuratively), but some of you may choose to avoid writers who overshoot in a supernatural direction.
