Contemplative Photography Field Trip

Bring your cameras and smartphones!

Weather permitting, we'll do contemplative photography around Harvard Square. (If cancelled due to rain, we'll post something here at

We'll meet outside the Humanist Center. We'll do a short meditation outdoors, most likely in JFK Park, to get into the right frame of mind.

Then, we'll head out looking for things to photograph. This web site discusses contemplative photography and has some photos:

"Contemplative photography is a method for seeing and photographing the world in fresh ways, to reveal richness and beauty that is normally hidden from view. Instead of emphasizing subject matter or the technical aspects of photography, the contemplative approach teaches you to see clearly, and make images based on fresh perceptions."

If you arrive late, we'll post a cell phone number on the door of the humanist center, so you can catch up with us.

We'll have some lunch afterward.

If any of you take photos you want to share, we'll figure out a way to do that.
