Weather Permitted, a Loving-Kindness Meditation

There is some uncertainty as to whether there will be a storm Tuesday night, so please check the web site before coming in case of cancellation.

Assuming no major storm, please join us for a loving-kindness or Metta meditation.

An article I wrote describing metta meditation was recently published on the Faith Street web site. Please take a look:

http://www.faithstreet.com/onfaith/2014/03/17/cant-pray-try-metta-instead/31301

After the meditation, we'll have a discussion.

Then, if there is interest, we'll go out for a bite to eat in Harvard Square.

On skipping the whipped cream, here is another article: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/26/opinion/bittman-butter-is-back.html?_r=0

The funny thing is, it's mainly the added sugar that's the problem with whipped cream; most whipped cream is low fat these days. (I don't know about Algiers'.)

But the one other thing about the article above is that he still suggests it's only possible to raise lots of meat unethically. Which I contest since having found out about Allan Savory, and learned that sustainable agriculture and solving climate change depend in large part on large-scale livestock-based recovery of grasslands.

I wrote a blog on this myself: http://www.revolutionarywellness.org/1/post/2014/01/eat-red-meat-save-the-planet.html

Not going to make it this week (sick) or next week (teaching). Have a good meditation and see you April 8.

I'm afraid I'm adding to the list of "not feeling well". I'll try to join in from home but I'm a bit dizzy! See you next week!

I"m going to take a stab at answering Angela's question differently by saying that I'll guess the meditation time will be 20 to 25 minutes, since it is not advertised as one of our special 40-minute longer sits. Please correct me if I am wrong, Rick.

The meetup officially runs from 7pm to 8:30pm. However, the meditation itself is likely to be over by 7:45pm. Hope you can make it.
