Mindfulness of Sound Meditation

Join us for a mindfulness of sound meditation, during which we will meditate to ambient sounds.

This is a good way to practice nonjudgmental awareness toward stimuli that are not ordinarily pleasant--like traffic sounds. When they are the object of meditation, the experience can be surprisingly positive.

    Hi everyone,

This might sound a bit strange but I was wondering if a group meditation on Skype has ever been considered. I live outside of Cambridge and meeting up at 7:00 means I miss my daughter's bedtime. I thought skype might be an interesting and free way to make meditation accessible to more folks.

That being said, messing with tech before a meditation isn't the most centering thing in the world. But if anyone is up for it, I'd be as well.

    Thanks and peace,
    Tony

Tony,That's not a strange request at all. Right now, we're not doing that, but the Secular Buddhist association is. In my contacts with them, they are totally in line with Humanist Principles. They are doing their next online group meditation on Dec. 9. See http://secularbuddhis...

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
