At our next skillsfest, we have an action-packed programme!
You can learn about draught-busting, baking German Christmas cookies, preparing your fruit and veg patch for winter, composting, cycle maintenance, making creams and balms (aka "Lotions and Potions"), needle-felting, making Deep South Biscuit (from the southern USA), wood-burning stoves, upcycling t-shirts and jeans, knitting, singing and more!
Family activities (for all ages) include making a bowl out of Autumn leaves, juggling, and making origami peace cranes from recycled paper. There'll also be a swap-shop (i.e. a bring and take area) and a cafe with delicious cakes, run by the Cafe Project.
Everyone is welcome, and the event is free (donations towards room hire will be appreciated!). This event is organised in collaboration with Cambridge Carbon Footprint, Greeniversity and The Cafe Project.
The full programme is here: http://www.transitioncambridge.org/skillsfest - please check the time of different workshops - they all last an hour, and some need to be booked on-line (baking cookies, deep south biscuit, and lotions and potions).
The SkillsFest will be held at St Andrews Hall, which is in Chesterton, just over the new cycle bridge. - See more at: http://www.greeniversity.org.uk/class/701#sthash.hWIaa7wF.dpuf
