The Orphan Works Directive - what you need to know

After our fantastic session on Copyright in February with Professor Lionel Bently, his colleague Dr Eleonora Rosati will join us to talk through the Orphan Works Directive: The recent Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act will allow anyone to exploit your photographs without your knowledge, permission, and payment to you.

Dr Eleonora will talk us through the directive and the Stop43 campaign. This really is one not to miss!

She is also part of a team who produce a fantastic blog on Intellectual Property, two great posts on the subject you can view here and here

You can view her university biog here

Lastly, you can sign the petition to try and stop the legalised theft of your work here!

This subject is key for anyone who blogs or puts content online, not just photographers, so do spread the word and bring guests!

Very interesting and useful update on the current status of image copyright and future changes that may make our photos more vulnerable to being copied and used.

This issue makes me sooooo mad.
Especially when some idiot minister says "it won't affect your copyright".
Part of copyright is your right to refuse use of your work. For whatever reason you choose.

Should be great. We may need to have some calming candles around the room though ;)

Ha ha. Although pacification may not be what is needed in the wider context ?
