My first four months with a tilt–shift lens, a talk by Richard Youell

Ever wondered what tilt-shift lenses are all about?

This month Cambridge Darkroom welcomes Richard Youell to give us a talk on his experiences getting to grips with a tilt-shift lens.

Richard describes himself as an amateur photographer and field-recordist who loves to capture the sights and sounds of big landscapes – particularly around dawn and dusk.

Following a day taking pictures with the professional landscape photographer Marcus McAdam, whilst on a trip to the Isle of Skye in May of this year - he finally took the plunge and bought himself a tilt-shift lens.

Richard will share his experience of learning how to use a tilt-shift lens and show some of the photographs that he has taken with it during the last four months.

It's going to be awesome.

Just joined the group and miffed as I did not know that this meeting was happening. I was intending to get a tilt shift soon.

Sorry, I cannot make it because the horse I was riding earlier today showed a sudden interest in tilt-shifting and I fell off. No harm was made other than to my dignity.

I am interested in tilt shift myself, but I must apologise for getting to the meet a little late - I have something else I must do first to keep the family happy!

Bah, I have a crisis at work so very much doubt I'll make it. It sounds fascinating too. Hopefully I'll make the next one.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
