~HumanLight~ A Presentation by Patrick Colucci (GCH & CCH)

If you're a Humanist, you've either heard about or participated in HumanLight. However, if you don't know much about HumanLight, now is your chance to learn more about this wonderful and illuminating gathering!

Patrick Colucci will be stopping by the South Jersey area to enlighten fellow humanists from Gloucester and Camden County on just what HumanLight is and how you can be a part of this important humanist event. He will be giving a presentation followed by a brief video afterward. There will be time for a Q & A. Below is a brief summary of HumanLight and it's purpose :

"HumanLight illuminates Humanism's positive secular vision. In Western societies, late December is a season of good cheer and a time for gatherings of friends and families. During the winter holiday season, where the word "holiday" has taken on a more secular meaning, many events are observed. This tradition of celebrations, however, is grounded in supernatural religious beliefs that many people in modern society cannot accept. HumanLight presents an alternative reason to celebrate: a Humanist's vision of a good future. It is a future in which all people can identify with each other, behave with the highest moral standards, and work together toward a happy, just and peaceful world."

We should keep the meeting at Gloucester County Library, because Suzie already placed the ad in the Gloucester County Times and the Camden Courier Post.

We already have 12 RSVPs and if anyone more signs up, we won't fit in our room, which is why our speaker asked for the move to a larger location.

If our ads mention our Meetup or Facebook groups then people who visit us online will see the change.

Ok! I will cancel the meeting at the Gloucester County Library, but I don't know about the ads in the newspapers.

    November 5, 2013

    • Janice R.

I talked to the library already and the change has been made. Maybe the newspaper can edit the ad before the next print run. And maybe the library can hang a sign for us.

I guess what else concerns me is that the AHA already sent out a mass email promoting the event to all AHA members within a 30 mile radius..

    November 5, 2013

    • Janice R.

      I didn't get that email.

      November 5, 2013

    • Janice R.

Perhaps we should ask them to send a new one. Also, please keep in mind that our regular crowd already fills that small room, so when we have a larger event, we will always need a larger location.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
