PLEASE READ THIS!

At this meet-up, we will celebrate the 4th anniversary of the founding of this meet-up group. This as been a pretty exciting year. We have had a change in leadership, and our founder, Doug Bass, has successfully launched his game, GARDEN DICE! i hope you all will be able to attend, as we take this timeto honor Doug's achievement with a Garden Dice tournament. I am also working on a surprise for that night, more on that as it develops.

The games we play are much different than the board games you played growing up. Some of them will give your brain a very satisfying workout due to the high level of strategy and low amount of luck. Others are totally dripping with theme (pirates, zombies, monsters, etc) that involve more luck and direct player conflict.

We have a growing collection of games on hand, but if you have a new (or old) boardgame you think fits the bill, by all means bring it along (as long as you'll teach us)!

So... let's have some fun rolling dice, placing tiles, or drawing cards - and enjoy some face-to-face interaction! It really isn't about whether you win or lose (at least not entirely). It is about having a great evening, trying to win some of the time, and always playing better the next time! smile

Just to be clear: we don't play Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, Uno, Yahtzee, etc. Please see our  About Us page for more information on the types of games we play.

Congratulations to Mike Shade, the winner of the world's first Garden Dice Tournament. We had a great time and there was a reporter from the Winston-Salem Journal there as well.

Just a logistic note: we will need 1 Garden Dice game for every 4 attendees, so I am expecting everyone who attends and has a copy, to bring it. I think there will be more interest in playing this, then anything else that night. I will be bringing additional games, for after people are knocked out of the tournament.

I will send out a separate announcement, but the surprise was to be members from local media. I have not gotten anything definite yet, but wanted to make everyone aware, so no one was caught off-guard.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
