How did you hear about Camel City Gamers? What made you decide to join?

I starting looking for local groups that share my interest in board games after graduating from UNCG in 2012. The Camel City Gamers looked to share an interest in many of the games that I had come to enjoy. I first attended in April 2013, looking forward to the opportunity to play new games and meet some good people in the process.

Describe yourself as a gamer. Tell us about your gaming likes/dislikes.

Gaming, for me, is all about the experience. I enjoy playing many different types of board games and exposing friends and family to games they would have never heard of before.

What are your favorite games, and what games would you like to try? What types of games are you drawn to? What types do you try to avoid?

My favorite game is probably Age of Empires 3 (it includes a variety of mechanisms such as worker placement, set collection, area control, push your luck, etc). Some games that I have wanted to, but never been able to play, include El Grande, Arkham Horror, and Memoir '44. I have never been very interested in RPGs or miniatures-based games.

Tell us anything else you'd like us to know about you; for instance, the date of your last Everest expedition

I attended my first gaming convention at MACE 2012 in Charlotte. I started working as a Game Shepherd (demo team) for Mayfair Games at MACE 2013.

My interest in the board game hobby began after playing a game of Settlers of Catan during college. Since then, my interest and collection have grown immensely (check it out in my photos).
