How did you hear about Camel City Gamers? What made you decide to join?

I formed Camel City Gamers in Nov 2008 in the hopes of creating a community of like-minded gamers. It's been very successful, and I hope you'll join (if you haven't already)!

Describe yourself as a gamer. Tell us about your gaming likes/dislikes.

I like games that make me think a lot, but that doesn't mean I don't like to have fun. I like games that combine both strategy and fun. I like multi-player games with good player interaction. I like decisions and controlled randomness. I am not a fan of many two-player games, totally abstract games, or games that are completely devoid of strategy.

What are your favorite games, and what games would you like to try? What types of games are you drawn to? What types do you try to avoid?

My favorite games change fairly frequently, but recent hits have been California Gold, AquaSphere, and Richard III. Medium- to medium-heavy strategy games are the ones I am most drawn to, though I'm OK with the lighter ones usually. I like the idea of theme-driven or dice-driven games, but I don't have the patience for ones that are too random or take four or more hours to play. My favorite of this genre is A Touch of Evil, a game set in colonial times where players take on foes such as The Headless Horseman. I have also found that I like some cooperative games like Yggdrasil and Ghost Stories. Lastly, I also enjoy a good dexterity game once in a while.

Tell us anything else you'd like us to know about you; for instance, the date of your last Everest expedition

I play clawhammer banjo and listen to vinyl, and I really like spicy Indian food. I self-published a board game in 2012 called Garden Dice.

Analog is the new digital. Playing board games and listening to music are my two biggest passions.
