Our former meeting place

I hate to make blanket announcements like this, but I told the owner I would do this, as a way for both parties to just move on.

I know I cannot stop anyone from expressing their feelings about the old place, but I am asking that we try to refrain posting negative reviews, now that we are no longer going there. It will serve no useful purpose for the group, and as a recent incident shows, I am the one who has to deal with the backlash from the owner. As I told him in my response, I would ask this of you. My wish is for both parties to just part ways, and live and let live.

I really want us as a group to put this matter behind us. I have been guilty of making jokes the last couple of meetups, about how nice the place we are meeting is, how warm, how bright... etc. I will be making an effort to refrain from doing this in the future. Going forward, I feel the only reason to reference the old place is as it relates to our history as a group (we did meet there more times than any other site) and possibly in making serious comparisons with new places. I think that is best for all concerned.

Again, thank you for your attention in this matter.

Onward and upward,

David
