Great camp. Pity blackberries bit past it but I got a big salad bowlful of juicy ones out of my bucket full of branches - great on the breakfast cereal! Re LOST ITEMS - I have a pair of secateurs with red/orange handles and a Hat in a calico bag marked Great Aust Bush hat. If the owners let me know who they are I will arrange to get them back to you.

Hi Kerri - thanks for all the great advice and thanks to everyone (Leisa and Adrian) who have kindly offered their gear but I've decided to come back Saturday late arvo so won't need it. Do you have a mobile number so that I can get in touch in case i get lost on my way? I can sometimes be challenged with directions : ) Thanks

Can anyone PLEASE provide me with transport? My lift to the event has now gone by the wayside & I still need a lift home again. With only 2 days to go, it's cutting things a bit fine. Please email me urgently at My Profile if you can assist. This is my first event. Cheers, lovely people.

Just a friendly reminder:
Things to bring:
- A picnic lunch for you and your family.
- Esky with ice
- Glad/zip lock bags
- Take-away containers
- Bring more containers/buckets than you think you need.
- Gloves if you don’t want to be purple at the end of it or be scratched all over.
- Step ladder
- sunscreen/insect repellant
Wear long pants and a long-sleeve light weight shirt to protect you from the spikes and the sun. Maybe boots.
Maybe make sure they are old in case they also go purple.
Maybe a box to stand on to get the juicy blackberries at the back.
Try not to eat all the berries as you pick. You won’t have many left to eat or make wonderful treats with.
Anything else you can think of, reply to this and add your thoughts.

Ok guys, date has been set for Blackberry picking, yay. Pete and I are wanting to camp, so we will be there the whole weekend, but going there on Saturday morning, not Friday night. Pete is wanting to go to Careys Caves, so we will do this on Sunday before we head back. There are also other members who have wanted to see Careys Caves as well. So, the itinery is;
We arrive at Micalong on Saturday at around 10.30am, set up, lunch and then blackberry picking. Sunday late morning, we will then pack up, head off to Careys Caves for a tour and then head home.
This will be a BYO camp and no need for a meeting before. Just come along before or at lunch time ready for the picking and eating of blackberries.

He guys, I just got off the phone with Steve from Wee Jasper and he thinks that January is way too early for the blackberies. We are now thinking either the 9th or 16th Feb. I need to give him a call a week before and he said that he will find us the best spot. He is a good man. So please keep these dates free. I will call Steve on the 1st Feb.

Love blackberry picking! Can anyone offer me car pooling, from the Woden/Weston Creek/Tuggeranong area, please?

I'm not sure where this post disappeared to, but it's what I was responding to : )
Now, I am just thinking that a Saturday would be good for this meetup.
I am either thinking the 19th Jan or 2nd Feb. I looked at last year and we went in February to Wee Jasper and the blackberries were divine, so I am thinking the later the better.
We have the Australia Day long weekend in the middle and we can go camping then. I will call Wee Jasper and see what they think.
What do you think though?
