Have you ever wondered how a person who is blind uses their mobile phone?
We have two lovely guest speakers for our next Canberra Web Accessibility Inclusive Design meetup - Cameron Roles and Carla Nolten - who will answer this question.
Carla and Cameron will deliver a short presentation focusing on mobile technology for totally blind users of iOS. The topics covered will include:
• What is Voiceover
• How easy is Voiceover to learn and what resources are available for users/developers
• A demonstration of Voiceover in action on an iPhone and iPad
• Accessibility of apps and mobile websites
• What problems are created by inaccessible aps and mobile websites
• Highlight apps which are accessible and easy to use
About our speakers
Cameron Roles is a totally blind lecturer at the ANU College of Law, teaching torts and workplace law. Cameron uses Windows, OSx and iOS daily, and is an experienced JAWS and Voiceover user.
Carla Nolten is an Adaptive Technology Consultant with Vision Australia, Australia’s leading blindness and low vision organisation, and is based in Canberra.
