Canberra Walking Festival - Sunday Circuit

This is the final day for the Canberra Walking Festival - full details are available at

For those walking today the cost is $20. If you also walked on Saturday you will earn the Canberra Two Day Walk medal.

All walks over the festival weekend are non-competitive, you walk at a pace that is comfortable for you - it is not a race.

Distance options are:
31km route - starting at 8am
20km route - starting at 9am
5km (guided) or 10km (self guided) routes - starting at 10am

**Remember that daylight savings ends on Sunday, so you get to sleep in an hour**

All routes are supported with checkpoints and water stations at regular intervals, but you are also advised to BYO water bottle - a suggested checklist of what to bring is available in the "welcome" letter on the above website.

This is a fun event and I would encourage you come along - you will meet lots of other walkers who will inspire you with their walking adventures around the world. If you choose to walk one of the longer distances I can almost guarantee that you will see parts of Canberra that you haven't seen before.

A great way to end the festival - over 500 walkers completed at least one walk during the festival, and most walked on both days to earn their two day medal (or pin).

I'm only doing the 5km walk, can I still join the group?

No problems - you can walk whichever distance you wish. The 5 km route is guided and generally fairly slow, but you can go on ahead if the pace is too slow for you.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
