Walking around Lake Ginninderra, Belconnen

We will walk around Lake Ginninderra, Belconnen.

We will meet on the small island at the end of Townsend Pl, John Knight Memorial Park, Belconnen. We will start there and walk counter clockwise around the lake.

The walking track is about 6km long, and takes about 1.5h on foot. There are a couple of toilets and water fountains along the track, as well as playgrounds.

Friends, families and kids are welcome. Kids less than 5 years old might need a stroller to finish the walking, and kids above 5 may bring their bicycles or scooters.

It was a terrific walk, even a foreign friend (Singaporean) joined us. The weather was obviously not warm, but our champion, John, kept striping his wearing and occasionally dropped some (which I was picking up behind). Having had this pleasant lake walk, we maybe turn to a bush walk inside a uniquely beautiful mountain - Jerrabomberra mountain (some might call hill) for next one.

Thanks to all for joining us today. There were 7 group members at today's bush walking, plus 2 family members. The walking took 1.5 hours. To Brenda: Sorry that I forgot to drop in. Busy chatting when we passed your location. See you at future events.

I can't make it because I'll be at a working bee at MakeHackVoid. You are all welcome to drop in and say hello on your way past (or anytime on Saturday) - I'd be happy to give you a tour. MakeHackVoid is in the old water police building with the jetty across from the Art Gallery.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
