Tuesday looks clear and 0% of rain, so let's get together and hike the floodwall and enjoy the river views and city lights. This is a flat hike- out and back on the floodwall. It will be about 2.5 miles roundtrip. Since it keep getting darker earlier, we will stay near the city lights, moonlight glow and Canine Adventure flashlights to get us back safely.
This will be a nice starter hike for folks who are getting used to getting distance under their belts as well as experienced hikers who want to get a weekday hike in with their pup. We will walk the floodwall which is flat and a gravel, wide trail. We will take the trail to the beginning of the slave trail where will turn and go through the old feed factory before getting back on the fllodwall to enjoy the sunset on the river. And as I mentioned above, I will have Canine Adventure flash lights for us to use if we need them at the end of the hike!
The hike will be on leash. Please wear appropriate trail shoes - no flip flops!
This is a "Starter Hike" - "Starter Hikes" are hikes that are 1-2 miles in length and designed for people and dogs wanting to begin hiking with us but not ready yet to tackle a regular 4-5 mile hike. By doing a number of shorter hikes, your dog can build up his/her mileage gradually, and eventually be ready for longer hikes. Because these are shorter hikes, the charge will be $5 per person. (This is also a good hike for older dogs or puppies who aren't up for the higher mileage.)
Weston and I look forward to seeing you Tuesday night! If you have any questions, please email me or post your question here.
We are thrilled that folks are enthusiastic about joining us on our hikes! Please understand that we can only accommodate a certain number of folks and pups on a given hike. Our group sizes are limited to ensure that we can effectively manage each group. You are welcome to RSVP with a guest (or two), but if the hike is filled up, please respect our limitations. There are more hikes on the way, you won't be left out!
