Post Celebration of Columbus Day- Canoe Run Park: Beginner Hike- 2 miles

Let's try this hike again! The rain is moving out so lets get outside and take advantage of the last weeks of daylight we have for a hike around Belle Isle! This will be a shorter hike since the sun keep setting earlier and earlier on us. But we will still get some quality time in together.

Interested in getting into hiking with your dog, but not sure if your dog is ready for the mileage of our regular hikes? Then Starter Hikes are for you! Starter Hikes are 1-2 miles in length and designed for people and dogs wanting to begin hiking with us but not ready yet to tackle a regular 4-5 mile hike. By doing a number of shorter hikes, your dog can build up his/her mileage gradually, and eventually be ready for longer hikes. Because these are shorter hikes, the charge will be $5 per person. (Starter Hikes are also great for older dogs or puppies who aren't up for the higher mileage - or for humans who aren't up for the mileage or more rugged trails.)

We will meet at Canoe Run Park and keep the terrain on mostly flat area and fireroads. We will jump on the back of Belle Isle and take the large outer loop around and stop in the middle for a water stop in the river. Dogs will be on-leash. Questions? Email me through Meetup or post your question in the comments.

We are thrilled that folks are enthusiastic about joining us on our hikes! Please understand that we can only accommodate a certain number of folks and pups on a given hike. Our group sizes are limited to ensure that we can effectively manage each group. You are welcome to RSVP with a guest (or two), but if the hike is filled up, please respect our limitations. There are more hikes on the way, you won't be left out!

BamBam, LuLu, Penny, Chief (1), Max, Cinder, Chief (2), Addy Daphne and Weston got an up tempo hike around Belle Isle tonight! We covered 2.25 miles at a great pace and got a dip in river. We got the flashlights out and took in the peaceful evening. Thank you everyone for coming out and see you on your next hike! Sorry it got dark too early, so I didn't get a lot of pictures. But the ones I did get are posted on Facebook on the Canine Adventure Human Adventure page: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.228073080689374.1073741905.155986301231386&type=3&uploaded=11
