Africa and "Saving the Rhino" Project with Joey Skibel

********** Two things you must do to register for this class:

1. RSVP here FIRST and then . . .

2. You MUST register for this class ($10) on our Canon site here:

Join Canon in our Live Learning San Francisco facility for an evening of inspiration and beautiful imagery as we welcome Canon Freelancer and Professional Photographer/Film Maker Joey Skibel. Joey was recently selected from the South African government from thousands of filmmakers to shoot a project to create global awareness to save the rhino from extinction.

He will tell his amazing story of his 1,000 kilometer trek across the region and share his photographic techniques on how he was able to capture some stunning images. This, all while filming African wildlife from lions, cheetahs, rhinos and his close encounter of elephant charges, all while on foot & without a vehicle.

Joey will explain why he chose the camera equipment that he used on his incredible journey. Since the return of completing the trek, Joey has gone back to South Africa again, this time driving from South Africa to Namibia, sleeping in a tent on the top of his vehicle. He’ll share with you how he captured wild life and landscape images for a gallery. You will also have the opportunity to see his limited edition images that are now being shown in a gallery in La Jolla CA, where he is exhibiting on a full time basis.

What you will learn:

How to choose the right camera & lensTechniques on how to improve your imagesCamera settings for moving subjects to landscapesWhich software to use for printing & editing your images

What to bring:

Camera, with a lensMemory card

Joey can help show you how to set your camera and lens settings, which will allow you to take your photography to the next level and help with any technical questions you might have on your equipment.
