As a perfect precursor to our Macro Workshop on August 9th, this three-hour seminar examines the variety of camera equipment, lenses and techniques used in creating compelling macro photographs. This seminar is the perfect class to take to learn about your equipment before enrolling our macro photography workshop.

Before beginning to create intricately detailed images of tiny subjects, you need to understand what your equipment options are. There’s everything from close-up lenses, extension tubes and bellows units to ultra sharp prime macro lenses. We’ll demystify the equipment so that you’ll be free to make choices that will allow you to capture your world in miniature.

What you will learn:

Close-up lenses, extension tubes and bellows units
Macro lenses and how to choose the one for your needs
Normal and wide-angle lens reversing
How to shoot macro with a minimum of equipment
Demystifying the use of flash
Selective focus vs. Depth-of-Field
An introduction to the concept of focus stacking
Using your iPad/iPhone for depth-of-field
How to use the CamRanger for focus stacking shooting
Using Zerene Stacker software for dramatic depth-of-field

What to bring: (This is not a hands-on class but bring gear to follow along if you'd prefer)

Your camera, with memory card
Fully charged battery or two
One or two lenses (Macro lens if you own one)
Speedlite (if you own one)

Hi - I RSVP'd to say yes, but don't see the link to sign up.

Is it because the class is full? There are only 4 RSVP yes, so possible, but not sure.

    Will email

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
