Join us at the Canon Creative Center for an afternoon of exploration using Canon Macro lenses. ($25 fee, see below)

Our instructor, Jim Rose, will  introduce  the  class to the fundamental of  shooting macro,  what to consider when choosing  lenses, and  lighting your tiny subjects. The  majority of the day will be  spent experimenting with hands-on  exercises photographing a variety of  subjects including flower portraits with studio lighting  and special macro projects  including milk  drops frozen in time and reflections in water droplets.

Join a small group  of fellow  enthusiasts  exploring a new  view of the world.  The day will end  with the opportunity to make a print

of your favorite image from the days shoot.

It was a great event. Got list of ideas from the WS to explore more in macro photography. Thanks ! Looking for more workshops like this.

A very well thought out class that gave the attendees a wide range of opportunities to explore macro photography in a controlled environment. Lots of helping hands and great advice. It was a fun, informative class. Thanks Canon!

    1. Meetup shows that I'm attending

    2. email from cusa.canon.com says that I'm "confirmed"

    3. Agenda portion of cusa.canon.com email says, "waitlisted"

    Not a good UX

Not sure if I'm on the wait list or the confirmed list

    Hi,

I got a registration confirmation but I do not show up on the attendee list. Did I miss it someplace?

I have a similar problem! I'm listed as "Attending" on the Meetup site but when I go to the Canon site I'm on the wait list. There seems to be a bit of a disconnect!

I received an email today from the Canon Creative Center letting me know that I did not get in. I'm taking my name of this list. Note that if you are not confirmed and paid on the Canon Creative Center registration, the Meetup list might not reflect your attendance. I hope Jim will have a second Macro Workshop in the future. Thanks.

Btw the low light demo of the 6D in the canon booth was very impressive.

So the people which are listed as attending on the meetup site are *NOT* necessarily confirmed. I have a receipt from Canon USA and I am not listed. The good news is that I am at CES this week and will need to cancel my registration and open it up to the wait list. I left a message on the VM you provided above.

Sorry for all the confusion everyone. Meetups are announcements of a Canon Creative Center Events. Actual registration to attend is through Canon's Regonline site located on the link provided. An RSVP on Meetup does not mean you are registered for the class.
You are only confirmed if you went to the registration site to enroll, paid the fee and received a final confirmation email. If you are still unsure or have any questions please call[masked]

Hi Jim, Just want to thank you for organizing this class. I'm one of the lucky ones who signed up early. I think the content is great and definitely worth the price!

I plan to get the Macro lens so I'm very eager to get into this class. Will I be informed that I can get in or not.
I hope you will run this class again soon.

I got confirmation of my registration and paid also, but today I don't see my name on the list or the waiting list either. I just want to make sure did you get my registration.

You are on the wait list for the Macro Workshop, but not actually registered for the event. There are currently about 10 people ahead of you on the wait list so it is unlucky that many people will cancel. This class was one of our most popular yet, so I'm sure we will be holding it again in the future.

What if I do not own macro lens for my Canon 5DIII now.

    December 14, 2012

    • Jim R.

We will have macro equipment for you to use. Bring your 5D and any lenses you have.

      2 · December 14, 2012

  • Dave G.

    Is this a free session?

    December 13, 2012

    • Jim R.

Dave, the majority of the workshop will be hands on shooting with macro equipment you bring or you may use the loaner macro lenses we will provide. Before shooting I will give a brief presentation on how to shoot macro subjects. After we are done shooting you will be able to print you best image on the printer we have at the classroom. We will have about 8 different macro subjects to shoot including the ones in the description. This workshop will be instructional in nature and a great way to learn macro photography.

    December 13, 2012

    • Jim R.

Yes, we will have macro lenses available. Just bring your EOS camera with the lenses you have. We have macro accessories that will work your lenses as well.
