Hey Web Designers and Developers!
I just wanted to send you a reminder about our National Day of Civic Hacking event, dubbed "HackNEO", this coming weekend, June 1st and 2nd. This free event is a way to find other civic hackers in your community, and help your community by donating your skillset for a day or two. And, we'll be having a ton of fun, too!
We'll be hacking on three Data Challenges during the event, networking, eating well, learning, and listening to some awesome speakers. During one of our hack breaks, Alan Williams from the Code for America Fellows will tell us about his journey into the civic hacking space, and why civic hacking is important for every community.
Join us for the first event of this kind in Ohio! Please register before Thursday, May 30th at http://hackNEO.org so that we can make sure we have enough food for everyone, sign you up for an event tshirt, and get you your $100 Amazon Web Services credit as a "Thank you" for giving back to your community.
Once you sign up, you will receive a detailed email this week regarding where to park, what to bring, and what to expect (besides a lot of fun!) If you're looking for more information before sign up, the HackNEO FAQ is a good start.
Please share this email with family, friends, coworkers, and others so that we we can make this event even more awesome!
Have an amazing Memorial Day,
Code for Summit County Captain
