I just wanted to extend the invitation directly to you all to come out
for the Queen's alumni curling day, this Sunday November 7th from 1-5pm
at the Petersham Curling Club.
I lived three doors down from the old Kingston curling club when I was
at Queen's, but never tried it until I moved here, and now I'm a fan.
Curling's popularity has exploded here since it debuted at the Olympics,
and it's gotten almost impossible to book time at the couple of area
clubs that are open to the public. Whether you've never tried it or are
an experienced skip I think you'll have fun with this fairly rare chance
at some friendly ice time.
Visit our website below for details and link to online registration
which closes on Thursday. We still have space for about a dozen more
people. Registration is $30 CAD per person, which includes all
equipment (but bring clean shoes), instruction, time to play, BBQ dinner
by Redbones, and door prizes. The curling club has a cash bar. You do
need to get yourself out to Petersham and back. Bruce and Andrew were
willing to chauffeur a few each.
Bonus for canuckophiles coming back to Cambridge: Queen's alumni
Bedouin Soundclash playing at the Middle East downstairs that night!
See you Sunday!
