National Capital Area Clojure Users Group February Meetup

This location is shown only to members

This is the first meeting of the National Capital Area Clojure Users Group. The meeting will be held at the company FGM in Reston.

Presentations:

Introduction to Clojure

Speaker: Russ Olsen

This is a beginner's introduction to Clojure by a (relative) beginner. I'm going to try to answer three questions in this talk:

  • How do I get started with Clojure?
  • What is the least I need to know to get something done with Clojure?
  • What are some of the cool things that I can do with just a little Clojure mojo?

Hope to see you there!

Incanter

Speaker: David Liebke

An overview of the Incanter libraries and demonstrating basic data manipulation and visualization. Also, a bit about FlightCaster's use of Clojure and Incanter.

David Liebke has created an awesome statistics library for Clojure and he gave a great presentation on it.

I really enjoyed Russ Olsen's presentation, he's a great speaker. I also appreciated the opportunity to talk about Incanter, thanks all. Look forward to seeing everybody next Month!

Russ's introduction to Clojure was really potent and accessible. Enjoyable speaker and slides complemented the presentation. Incanter was introduced in spirit (motivation) and body (concrete, clear examples). David also fleshed out a few more corners of Clojure and sparked some good discussion. I really enjoyed putting a face to the names I see on Twitter and elsewhere in the Clojure community. Looking forward to many more!

Great talk! Ross Olsen went over first steps in how to start with Clojure. Then David Liebke talked about the Incanter project.
